Australian Technologies Comp. hits record number of entries

THE Australian Technologies Competition (ATC), has received its highest ever number of startup entries this year, at 229 applications, up from 136 in 2024 – an increase of 68 percent.

Scalare Partners will be offering $100,000 investment prize to the winner. With investment being a key focus of this year’s competition, successful entrants will have the opportunity to connect with investors, mentors and industry experts to help grow their business.

ATC helps accelerate a range of Australian technology companies across more than a dozen sectors including clean energy, fintech/regtech, medtech, advanced manufacturing, social impact, and more. The ATC is owned by Australian Securities Exchange-listed tech accelerator, Scalare Partners (ASX: SCP).

Scalare Partners chief executive officer, Carolyn Breeze said the surge in interest reflects the incredible momentum in Australia’s tech ecosystem and the growing global relevance of the startups who apply.

“This is the highest number of applicants ATC has had in its 15-year history,” Ms Breeze said. “From climate tech to AI and advanced manufacturing, the calibre of entrants this year has been truly exceptional.

“The range of applicants this year reflects the grassroots strength of Australia’s innovation economy and there’s clearly plenty for investors to tap into. We are also glad to be working with our sponsors who are organisations that share our mission to accelerate homegrown businesses and help scale them globally,” Ms Breeze said.

Some of this year’s sponsors for the ATC include Deloitte, Dell Technologies, Salesforce, Think & Grow, Automic, Fishburners, LegalVision, and FB Rice.

The ATC will next have a masterclass on June 18 – an intensive full-day workshop for the selected finalists to refine their pitch, sharpen strategy, and connect with industry leaders, with tickets coming available next week.

Then the final pitch and awards night, where Australia’s most promising scale-ups pitch live for national recognition, followed by an awards night, will be hosted on September 17.

An ATC spokesperson said tickets for the grand finale event would be released shortly.
