Founding a Neobank in 90 days via Bootstrapping

What is a neobank and how are they different to a traditional bank?  What levers for differentiation can a neobank use to change the way that consumers and businesses see the business of banking?  How is technology supporting the increasing appearance of new neobanks?

These key questions will be explored, and discussed in the context of the journey of Vspry, which is an emerging Brisbane-based neobank with a twist.

Mark Harper is an experienced banker and financial services leader turned entrepreneur. After 10 years in senior leadership roles with Suncorp and Bank of Queensland, BOQ provided Mark with an usual opportunity in late 2017 to iterate and commercialise a tech start-up, as a means of avoiding being disrupted by being the disruptor; which for a traditional bank was let’s say unusual. 

Mark is now co-Founder of Vspry, and along with a bunch of bright young Queensland software engineers and healthcare industry specialists, is embarking on a challenge of epic proportions drawing on every ounce of his experience and leadership prowess to achieve a lofty goal with a tangible social benefit ... making healthcare more affordable and accessible in an age where we are living longer and increasingly
