DAY ONE
Join the SEGRA Foundation and representatives from across the country to work together to advance regional Australia.Expertly facilitated with an emphasis on interactivity, attendees will gather on the main stage of Empire Theatres to engage directly with speakers, panellists and peers from across regional Australia.
Day one focuses on four themes (influence and engagement, economic development through co-ops and mutuals, digital connectivity, jobs and skills) each with an audience activity that will result in tangible resources and ideas for attendees to take back to their workplace and community and also to inform the future work of SEGRA.
 
 
DAY TWO
Day two of the National Regional and Economic Development Summit will be a thought-provoking and informative experience, returning to the traditional SEGRA format.
Attendees are invited to a business breakfast with demographer Mark McCrindle hosted by the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce from 6.45am - 8am - a discount code is included in the Summit registration email.Returning to Empire Theatres but this time in the Armitage Theatre, attendees will gain an insight into Toowoomba’s economic development strategy and key projects. This will be followed by an examination of wellbeing indexes to measure progress and development in our regions. Prior to morning tea we will take a closer look at the potential for circular economies in rural Australia.Attendees can then choose from over 40 different presenters under the themes of:
  • Youth mentoring, education and career development
  • Transitioning local economies
  • Tourism and events
  • Addressing waste and food insecurity
  • Community resilience and capacity building
  • Rural workforce development
  • Environment and natural resources
  • Migration and multiculturalism
