Travis Auld, CEO, Australian Grand Prix Corporation
Wednesday August 7 2024: 12:00 – 2:00 pm
If you’re a fan of the Netflix hit, ‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive’, or if you wish to extend your knowledge of leadership across sporting sectors, you’ll want front row seats to this QUT Business Leaders’ Forum.
Travis Auld has had a close to 30-year career at the helm of some of Australia’s largest sporting institutions, including roles as COO of Essendon Football Club, CEO of Gold Coast Suns, and CFO of AFL Australia. Now driving the growth of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, he leads the organisation responsible for hosting the two most prestigious international motorsport events in Australia – Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix and Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
While Formula 1 has been broadcast in Australia for over 26 years, there is more interest in the sport than ever before. Catering to both long-time fans and newer audiences, the race has adapted to become an event for everyone and contributed an estimated total economic impact of $268m in 2023.
At the QUT Business Leaders' Forum, Travis will speak to his personal leadership journey, including key challenges and the qualities that matter to him. He will also discuss the rise in popularity of motorsport in Australia, his plans to develop and grow the events, and the future of Australian sport.
Join us for this insightful conversation moderated by leading journalist, Ellen Fanning.
