Myriad Festival 2017
Silicon Valley, London, Tokyo and now Queensland! The attention of some of the world’s most innovative minds all focussed on Queensland in March 2017 for the southern hemisphere’s inaugural Myriad festival.
Featuring a world class line up of speakers and entertainment, entrepreneurs, investors, business owners, tech-lovers, and innovators Myriad 2017 filled the Brisbane Powerhouse with ideas and innovation for two and a half days.
Regional Innovation Showcase at Myriad 2018
Once a year, the world’s most influential thinkers, entrepreneurs and innovators gather in Queensland for Myriad, Australia’s premier technology and innovation event.
Startups and innovators from across regional Queensland can now apply to be supported to attend and showcase at Myriad from 16–18 May 2018 at the Royal International Convention Centre, Brisbane.
If you are a regional entrepreneur, startup or innovative businesses this is your opportunity to hear local and international speakers, exhibit your innovation and connect into a valuable network of collaboration and partnership opportunities across Australia and the Asia Pacific and beyond.
Up to ten delegates will be selected from each of the ARIP regions (PDF) to attend and showcase in their region’s exhibit space in The Garage.
Applications are open for a limited time. To find out more about the eligibility criteria, selection process and closing dates in your region please contact your Myriad regional co-ordinator as soon as possible.
Advance Queensland, through the Advancing Regional Innovation Program (ARIP), is providing funding to each of the 12 ARIP regions to support regional innovators to attend and interact at Myriad and showcase their ideas to major corporations and international investors.
Each selected regional delegate will receive an event ticket and have the opportunity to showcase their innovative product/service to a local, national and global audience. Delegations from seven regions* have also attracted additional financial support to assist offset expenses associated with attending Myriad 2018.

Breaking it down, Myriad 2017 in numbers:
- 3300 total audience participation (including satellite events)
- 46% of ticket holders were associated with the startup sector
- 56% are decision makers within their business
- 11% attendees from interstate (highest percentage from NSW), 3% international, 86% Queensland
- The highest motivations for attending were for networking and professional development opportunities
- The average number of new contacts made during Myriad was 8.9
- 164 exhibitors
- 149 speakers (33 interstate, 49 interstate, 53 local, 14 regional), 22 facilitators, 98 sessions
- 1000 high school and university students participated in Myriad High program
Myriad 2017 in photos
Myriad 2017 built on the success of the 2016 Advance Queensland Innovation and Investment Summit.
Myriad is presented in partnership with the Queensland Government through a three-year $2.1 million agreement with Myriad Technology Conferences to host the festival from 2017 to 2019.
