Whistleblowers can expose wrongdoing that would otherwise remain hidden – but working with them brings serious legal, ethical and practical responsibilities for journalists.

Join Kieran Pender and Madeleine Howle from the Human Rights Law Centre’s Whistleblower Project, alongside Guardian Australia chief investigations correspondent Christopher Knaus, for a practical 90-minute webinar on working safely and responsibly with whistleblower sources.

The session will cover Australia’s whistleblower protections and their limits, source confidentiality, handling sensitive information, assessing risk, and the pressures whistleblowers can face when deciding to speak.

Thursday, 14 October | 1:00–2:30pm AEDT | Online
Free for MEAA members | $25 for non-members
