Mandatory vaccinations for residential aged care workers
On 28 June 2021, the National Cabinet agreed to mandate that at least the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine be administered to all residential aged care workers by mid-September 2021.
Vaccination will be mandated as a condition of working in an aged care facility through shared state, territory and Commonwealth authorities and compliance measures.
In this webinar, we will provide an update on:
- what the National Cabinet announcement means for Australian aged care employers, including impacts for both aged care facilities and retirement facilities that include aged care services
- legal implications of this announcement for the aged care sector and other sectors that may go down this same path in future
- steps employers can take to prepare for September and manage likely risks
- what to do if people refuse the direction for personal or religious reasons
- key differences that will potentially be experienced across states and territories.
This session will be of direct interest to employers in the aged care sector, including senior executives and HR professionals. It may also be of interest to employers in other sectors that are looking towards mandatory vaccination or vaccination as a condition of employment.
This webinar is part of our ongoing series of COVID-19 updates to keep you informed on the latest developments impacting you and your business.
