World-renowned thought leaders present new thinking on how to BE BETA at the World Business Forum

World Business Forum, Sydney 31 May – 1 June

For the fourth year running, leading international speakers will descend on Sydney for the two-day World Business Forum (31 May – 1 June) to reveal how to thrive in a world where change is accelerating and competitive advantages are increasingly transient. With new technologies emerging faster than ever before, the esteemed line-up of speakers will argue that those who anticipate change and act will flourish.

The Forum will be exploring the idea of BE BETA, and brings together a host of industry thought leaders including: Arianna Huffington, Co-Founder of Huffington Post Media Group; Daniel Goleman, leading authority on Emotional Intelligence; Jimmy Wales, Founder of Wikipedia; Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Professor of Strategy at Harvard Business School; Mohanbir Sawhney, globally recognised business consultant; Ian Williamson, leadership expert at Melbourne Business School; Randi Zuckerberg, former Director of Marketing at Facebook; Ken Segall, former Ad Agency Creative Director at Apple.

Arianna Huffington will redefine success in a fast-moving world. She will provide insights into reducing stress and boosting productivity, the challenges of time management and what she believes makes leaders wise.

As a leading authority on emotional intelligence, Daniel Goleman will delve into the depths of the leadership mindsight and reveal what it takes to develop resonant leadership and how to harness the power of self-awareness.

Founder of Wikipedia Jimmy Wales will investigate business in a connected and collaborative world and share how businesses need to adapt to compete and innovate in a world that is increasingly open and collaborative.

Rosabeth Moss Kanter has been named among the 50 most powerful women in the world by The Times of London. Through compelling examples from global organisations, Rosabeth will examine how business leaders are creating innovation, growth and social good. She will share the six facets of organisational logic that aide in sustainable competitive advantage.

Alberto Saiz, CEO of WOBI, said the insights that these speakers will provide are vital for today's business leader.

"When we find ourselves in a state of constant BETA, we need to turn to the experts to discover ways we can thrive. The line-up we have secured will help us to reinvent our companies, experiment and learn to identify new opportunities and most importantly drive a competitive advantage," said Mr Saiz.

The World Business Forum have announced the introduction of a Diversity Panel, where Melbourne Business School Associate Dean Jody Evans will facilitate a discussion with prominent Australian leaders. The panel will examine and discuss why incorporating Diversity & Inclusion is a critical component for organisations corporate culture, and why organisations are slow to adapt despite strong evidence in favour of diversification within the workforce, especially at management and board level.

Speaking of the opportunity, Associate Dean Jody Evans commented on the importance of the conversations around diversity and female leadership.

“The World Business Forum has provided a fantastic platform to lead the discussion around gender diversity and to engage with industry leaders. With evidence to support the benefits around diversified management teams and workforces in relation to performance, it is increasingly important to share this knowledge and maintain an open dialog.

Joined by Angela Mentis Chief Customer Officer Business & Private Banking at NAB, Christine Corbett Chief Customer Officer at Australia Post and Ashley Winnett Executive Director People, Performance and Culture at Holden, we will ask the hard hitting questions around why change is slow and the impact of a diverse workforce on an organisations culture. I’m looking forward to presenting key thinking in this topical subject,” said Ms Evans.

The World Business Forum commences on 31 May at 9:00am at The Star Sydney.
